Print FixThe main way, it seems, to fix any problem with printing is to open the covers with a graphics program and scale the images until they are the right size. Not counting any white space outside the tape cover, the individual tape covers should be 4x6 inches. You could also scale them to any other size you want. They should scale to DAT size rather easily, but I have never tried it. Below are emailed messages from people who have had problems printing the tape covers and have successfully resolved the problems. Please email me if you would like to add your solution to this page to help others.
What I did was use Adobe Photoshop. That lets me set the exact size in inches, cms or pixels that I want. Works great. Thanks "Often...it is the merely obvious that completely eludes us"
Peace, Your covers are amazing!! Anyway, my friend and I were having trouble printing your covers. They printed as the perfect size for DAT's from Netscape, but we couldn't get them to print right for normal covers. Also, for some reason, we couldn't get the files into Paintbrush, so we were stuck. Here's what we did: We right-clicked on the Start button and brought up Explorer (the oldfile manager). We went into the cache and clicked on files until we found the tape cover. (Windows '95 must have an image viewer already installed since the picture popped right up when we did this.) We printed it out from there and it was perfect size. Sorry for the very basic approach, but it helps us newbies out a lot.*smile* Also, I think this way is pretty simple too. C-ya.
Thanks for your advice on the tape covers. I am very close to getting them to print correctly. I use Windows95 and I installed the Hijaak Graphics Suite for 95. I doubled the size of the image and it came out almost perfect (a little too large). It's just a matter of getting the correct ratio now. I'll keep you updated. FYI for your fix page: Delrina commsuite for 95 has an image editor which I think will work as well as the ABC graphics suite. Keep up the great work. Thanks! Ken
I had e-mailed you previously about problems printing the covers. My solution was to go to www.shareware.com->type"graphics" into the search box. I then found iview 32 picture viewer and converter. For the six covers per page, they print out the best if "Best Fit" is checked on the print menu page. For the single covers, the solution is to select (print) and then select scale. Then the X axis needs to read 5.00 and the Y axis needs to also read 5.00. Also the Orientation on the print page menu should be changed to "Landscape." Hope this will help others as well. :-) Peace, Mark
I figured out how to print them over break- I downloaded them to the paintbrush file and then scaled them up to 138% to print, and it worked. Thanks anyway. -susan
I had a little trouble printing them, they were too small. I was using LVIEW. Here's how I fixed it. In LVIEW under OPTIONS under PRINTER under CUSTOM Shrink/Enlarge Change Cols to 410% and Rows to 410%. Turn FIT TO PRINTER OFF and CENTER OFF. They fit perfectly, and the printed nice on an HP color 1200C.
In LVIEW under OPTIONS under PRINTER under CUSTOM Shrink/Enlarge Change Cols to 410% and Rows to 410%. Turn FIT TO PRINTER OFF and CENTER OFF. However I found that 500 x 500 worked best for my Maxell XL II cassettes. Hope this helped you. later. schwen

I use Graphic Workshop by Alchemy Mindworks to print your tape covers ... when I print, I select "Print at Integral Sizes" and select "four up (400 percent)". Great tape covers, thanks! - Dave
